Brighton Textile Students

Floral Embroidery

I have just recently finished a freelance job for Brighton University student Kavita Ravaliya. Again I was asked to pattern cut, sample toile and make the final garment out of a fabric she had designed and developed.

Kavita had chosen to use a floral theme in her print and has used three mediums to showcase her talent. The shape of the jacket is oversized and boxy in a boyfriend style with digital print lining and a screen printed rose design covered in detailed embroidery.

Kavita did her work placement for Embroiderer Jenny King who’s studio is based in Brighton. Jenny King has previously embroidered for designers Erdem, Stella McCartney and Mary Katrantzou among others and Kavita was able to use her studio for her final pieces.
