I have one word for this collection by Manish Arora ‘AMAZING’
No, really I could talk about this collection for hours, I had a flick through earlier at work and instantly loved it! The pastels beautifully compliment the silver and golds in certain looks and the bright colours just pop against them. The prints are fun and playful as a mismatch of florals, checks and geometric shapes create flattering lines and layers. The textile embellishment on several pieces gives an almost ’70’s gone mad’ aesthetic and in the case of this collection more is definitely more!
With Alexander Wang behind the design wheel at Belenciaga at the moment the collection shown has given great insights into the playful directions the Fashion House may take in the future. The first few looks show clear Wang inspiration, with rigid shapes and sporty cuts which gradually develop into easy to wear floaty silhouettes as the collection progresses. The colour palette is soft and elegant and the asymmetric cut shoes set the collection off perfectly.
