As I was working all hours for Ong-oaj Pairam the week before LFW I didn’t get much time to check out the New York collections but I have had plenty of time to watch shows and endlessly look through images of collections shown in London. There were so many great ones but here are my four favourites.
This seasons collection from Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos is very strong. After winning the fashion fund for 2014 a little while ago they are set to continue with the inventive print that they are known for.
The mix of geometric and landscape prints is accentuated with bold and jewel like appliqué. I honestly can’t find a look that I don’t like, my favourite has to be the cobalt blue coat. I think they have hit the nail on the head with this collection and I can’t wait to see what they have to offer next season.
The relaxed silhouette and grungy look portrayed in this collection is complimented with colourful hummingbird prints and beetle detailing. The oversized check knit works beautifully alongside the cleaner prints and the styling keeps the collection modern and youthful.
This is the first season which I personally have taken note of Felder Felder. I can’t get enough of the furry knit dresses and mix of coloured leather. The sheer panels add a feminine touch to the heavier materials complimented with cut out sides. I love it!
And of course Ong-Oaj Pairam
Maybe it’s because I have been working on the patterns for part of this collection or maybe that a friend designed the prints, but I really feel this collection from Thai born Ong-Oaj Pairam shows real design talent. As it’s just his third season I am sure he is only set to get bigger and better in the years to come and I am more excited than ever to get up and go to work in the mornings (even if show time is pretty exhausting)
